3rd Grade3rd Grade did a great job performing their puppet showcase this month! Congratulations to 302, 303, 304, and 345! All the hard work during rehearsals are paying off! Their performances were recorded so that they can reflect and assess their own performances. Stay tuned for the videos. Happy holidays! 4th Grade4th Grade's Shakespeare Showcase was hilarious! Great job to 403 and 404 for doing a great job with it. The rest of 4th grade came to watch and it helped them see the plays that their peers were working on. Due to time constraints, 401 and 402 will have their presentations recorded after the break. Check below for the videos of their showcase. Please note that the videos are not publicly visible. Only people with the link may view it. Stay tuned for the rest of the videos. Class 404: Shakespeare Showcase 7th GradeWiley and the Hairy Man was presented in the 7th grade showcase this month. Each group transitioned seamlessly to the next group to present a cohesive play. The actors showcased their blocking from their director and choices for character voice and character centers. The actors and directors worked well together to bring their scenes to life. Check back soon for the video of their presentation! 8th GradeCONGRATULATIONS to Jacob, Bilal and Lucas in 8T1! Their class has spoken, and the winning play for their class is Get Animated written by the trio. The story is quirky, fun, and imaginative. It is about a boy who gets bullied in school, finds a sketchbook from his grandfather in the attic. He uses it for class, but he is in for a total surprise as this sketchbook is no ordinary one! Without giving too much of the story away, stay tuned for updates on how 8T1 goes through the journey of producing the play.
Exciting new for 8T2 as we will be welcoming a theater artist from Lincoln Center will be working on Devised Theater with them. Devised Theater is my absolute favorite to creating a production since everyone works together as an ensemble and get to contribute ideas to making the performance. Before the teaching artist gets here, we will be exercising our teamwork muscles! Stay tuned for updates on their process!
